Planning Commission

The North Wales Borough Planning Commission (NWPC) is a five-member committee; appointed by Borough Council.  Its role is advisory.  The Borough Manager serves as an ex officio member.

The Mission of the NWPC is to ensure that the Borough’s Comprehensive Plan and its Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance are consistent with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.  Its responsibilities include:

Reviewing the Borough’s Plans and recommending to Borough Council any necessary amendments.
Reviewing all plans for development and expansion within the Borough.
Anticipating any potential problems relating to development.
Representing the Borough on land use matters with neighboring municipalities.

Anyone wishing to expand or to initiate new development must appear before the NWPC.  This can be arranged by contacting the Borough Manager.
